Las Posadas: A Santa Fe Holiday Tradition

Santa Fe loves Christmas Eve and the annual farolito walk on Canyon Road, but less well-known, is the unique tradition known as Las Posadas, also a one-night-only event. It is a re-enactment of the Holy Family’s search for lodging, which takes place each year in and around the historic Santa Fe Plaza.

Celebrated around the world, this historic Hispanic version of Las Posadas is presented by local volunteers and others from several northern New Mexico communities. The candle-lit procession will begin at 5:30 pm on the Santa Fe Plaza and conclude with carols and seasonal revelry.

Sunday, December 11th – 5:30 – 8:00 pm.
