Día de Muertos marks a special time to honor and reconnect with the dead in a uniquely meaningful and beautiful manner that is believed to have originated in Mexico.
Join in on the festivities on the Santa Fe Plaza on both Friday, October 27th and Saturday, 28th.
Attendees will enjoy mariachi music and boleros (a form of 18th C. Spanish dance music), decorating several community ofrendas (an altar created to honor a deceased love one with their favorite foods, drinks, and personal items, as well as photos), and sampling Mexican cuisine via food trucks. Kids can have their faces painted at glow-in-the-dark face painting booths and all can revel in the Glow-in-the-Dark Candlelight Parade.
