The much-anticipated Piñon-Juniper Woodland (PJW), 3.25 acres of natural ecosystem within the Botanical Garden at Museum Hill, has quietly opened this month. When you’re next in the Garden, look for the gate adjacent to the northeast area of Ojos y Manos: Eyes & Hands gardens. The new site, still a work in progress, will be minimally developed and is intended to provide in-town accessibility to the foothill woodlands native to Santa Fe. PJW features a 1/3-mile loop trail, the first quarter of which is ADA compliant. The remainder of the trail is improved, and there are benches throughout where visitors can sit and enjoy the views.
