Truth windows

Have you ever seen a “truth window”? Many straw bale homes have one. A truth window is used to show that the walls are actually made from straw bales. A small section of a wall is left un-plastered and a frame is used to create a window which shows the straw inside.  Glass may be placed over the window, or a wooden panel door, or it may just be a simple framed opening. The style of the window is often a reflection of the owner’s taste. New Mexico has many homes that are built out of straw bale, and we have seen some great truth windows. In fact, this picture of a truth window is from a straw bale house we sold last year!
