What a gorgeous image of the sun rising over the Sangre de Cristo Mountains! According to the photographer, the radiating dark and light rays you see are called “crepuscular rays”, since they often occur during the crepuscular (or twilight) part of the day, though they can occur at sunrise too as in the case of this stunning photo.
