Coming up this week is Los Alamos Science Fest, a festival celebrating the history and science of Los Alamos during events over July 13th – July 16th. The schedule includes historical tours and hikes, STEM activities and demonstrations for children and teens, live music and entertainment, and more.
We’re especially interested in checking out the Flight of the Origami Cranes exhibit, where you can create your own origami crane to be sent to the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum and the Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Museum.
Each year, thousands of donated paper cranes from around the world are sent to these museums in Japan. The Los Alamos History Museum will deliver the community cranes to Hiroshima and Nagasaki in August.
