La Cieneguilla Petroglyphs

Did you know there are hundreds of petroglyphs to be seen just south of Santa Fe in La Cieneguilla?

Created mostly by Keresan-speaking puebloan people living in the area between the 13th and 17th centuries, the petroglyphs can be seen along the mesa above the Santa Fe River.  The petroglyphs include many hump-backed flute player images and a great variety of bird figures.

With no visitation or parking fees and year-round access, this site is must-see for art and history buffs alike.
