How to Make a New Mexican Chile Ristra or Wreath

As we near the end of the chile harvest, now is the time to make your own chile ristra or wreath.

Ristra is Spanish for “string” and you will find ristras throughout New Mexico year-round.  Chile wreaths typically show up at winter holiday time, of course.
