Learning the names of the mountain ranges that surround Santa Fe is one of the hallmarks of becoming a local and learning the names of certain peaks is even more fun! I love the two round mountains located behind St. John’s College called Monte Sol (Sun Mountain) and Monte Luna (Moon Mountain).
Here’s a hike up Sun Mountain that is moderately challenging and will offer incredible views from the top.
