Kick off the holiday season at Madrid’s Annual Christmas Parade this Saturday, December 3rd!
Led by a red-nosed yak (!), this Christmas parade is as unique and offbeat as Madrid is. Once a coal mining town until the miners went off to fight on WWII, Madrid was then abandoned until the 1970s when bikers, artists, and hippies moved in and revisioned the town to the colorful and whimsical destination it is today.
If you want to be in the parade, meet at Highway 14 and Backroad at 3:30 pm. The parade begins at 4:00 pm with businesses and homes displaying their holiday lights after the parade.
