Have you heard of geocaching? This outdoor recreational activity has been around since 2000 and is played all over the world…including here in Santa Fe!
Using a Global Positioning System receiver or a mobile device, participants hide and seek containers, called “geocaches” or “caches” at specific locations marked by coordinates. Basically, it’s like a treasure hunt using current technology rather than old-fashioned pen and paper.
I first learned of geocaching when I came across one completely by accident while hiking Picacho Peak, believe it or not! Ever since that surprising discovery, I’ve been curious to learn more. Check out the article below from the Santa Fe Reporter to start your own geocaching adventure!
